Lawrence E. Taylor, CPM®

Larry began his career in the financial services industry in 1982 with J.C. Bradford & Company, where he was promoted to Branch Manager in 1987 and became a partner in 1991.
His experience has taught him that the core values of integrity, compassion, wisdom and generosity are essential to building lasting relationships. Larry’s guiding philosophy recognizes that people deserve a well-thought-out financial plan. With a high level of integrity and skill, Larry helps navigate clients through the complexities of today’s global financial markets.
Larry is committed to building durable, lifelong working relationships with business owners, professionals and affluent retirees. By carefully listening to his clients’ needs and goals, Larry is able to develop innovative, customized solutions to provide them with peace of mind and confidence for their financial future. Larry holds the Series 7, 8, 63 and 65 securities licenses and received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN.
A devoted member of his community, Larry serves as an elder of Covenant Church in Cookeville and supports a variety of charities, including Mustard Seed Ranch, Young Life, Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic and Heart of the Cumberland. He is a past member of the board of directors of Cityscape, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the College of Business Foundation for his alma mater. He and his wife, Connie, have two grown children and four grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys all sports, reading, music, traveling, creating abstract art, working out and spending time at the beach.
Steve Boots
Senior Vice President | Financial Advisor
Since starting his career in 1998, Steve has advised clients through two recessions and multiple market corrections. He understands the value of managing risk by finding a balance between protecting and growing accumulated wealth.
The needs of clients come first to Steve, who uses a thoughtful evaluation process to advise clients on their life goals. He credits his team, The WillowPointe Group, for their exceptional abilities and dedication to this process which results in the delivery of outstanding, insightful advice and client service. He considers this team, and the nominal role that he played in helping create it, to be one of his most important career choices. Together, this team works to help clients achieve a "Work Optional" lifestyle. A former Branch Manager, and current Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor, he holds the Series 7, 9, 10, 63, and 65 securities licenses along with a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Tech University.
Steve has been involved in founding three local organizations and has served as president of all three. Those organizations are the Cookeville Regional Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors, the Cookeville Charter Chapter of Business Network, International, and the Upper Cumberland Community Tennis Association of the USTA. He is an elder in the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and has served as Chairman of the Christian Education Ministry, the Stewardship and Finance Committee, the Personnel Committee, and the campus ministry. A former president of the Tennessee Tech Library Foundation Board, Steve has also served on the Leadership Putnam Board of Directors, the Upper Cumberland Broadcast Council, The Tennessee Public Television Council, and the Fleetguard Scholarship Committee. He is also a member of the Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) Advisory Board. He and his wife, Connie, have two grown children, John and Emily, and are the proud grandparents of Brooklyn and Xavier Boots. In his spare time, Steve enjoys tennis, travel, reading, music, photography, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Rachel L. Dalton
Associate Financial Advisor
Rachel joined Baird in 2021 as the team’s junior partner, financial planner and business developer. She is currently serving the team as an Associate Financial Advisor. Before starting her financial services career, Rachel worked in the entertainment and retail industries. This experience has given her the strong ability to meet with and listen to clients in order to learn more about their specific needs. She enjoys building long-term relationships and providing exceptional service as she profiles business owners, members of the entertainment industry, retirees, individuals and their families to create tailored financial plans.
Rachel is proud to be part of a team with over 75 years of combined experience. By listening closely, she works to uncover their needs and concerns, which she incorporates into individualized, long-term wealth management strategies aimed at achieving their financial goals.
A graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Rachel earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in music business. She holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses. She is also accredited to offer life, health and accident insurance with variable contracts.
Rachel lives in Nashville with their two children. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends and traveling.
Amy T. Ray
Senior Client Specialist
With over two decades of experience in the financial services industry, Amy has been a leading presence for The WillowPointe Group since 1999. She is responsible for all areas of client service, administration, and office logistics. Her can-do attitude enables Amy to build deep relationships with clients as she provides them with an outstanding client experience. She holds the Series 7, 63 and 66 securities licenses, which enables her to process trades for clients and assist with their portfolio strategy implementation. She is also licensed to offer life, health and accident insurance. Amy received her bachelor’s degree in finance from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN.
Amy and her husband, Fred, have two daughters. She is a member of Habitat for Humanity’s homeowner selection committee and assists with other volunteer projects throughout the community. In her leisure time, Amy enjoys reading, walking and spending time with her family.
Amber Underwood Taylor
Client Assistant
Amber started her career in the financial industry in 2013 as Steve Boots’ assistant and has grown into a much larger role with The WillowPointe Group. She takes pride in handling our office administration, marketing, client service, specializing in online services as well as planning office events and community outreach. Amber is very passionate about taking care of our clients and making sure they have the best possible experience with our team. She consistently looks for opportunities to better serve our clients and for ways our team can be active in giving back to our community.
Before joining Baird, Amber was a key member in starting a non-profit organization that provides food for children during school breaks when the children do not have access to school meals. Being a part of this organization has taught her invaluable skills like putting the needs of others before her own and working with a team for the common goal of helping others.
Amber moved Tennessee from Louisiana in 2005 and has lived in Cookeville since 2011. She decided to make Cookeville her home and put down roots so her family could be a part of a great community surrounded by a loving group of friends and bonus family. In her spare time Amber enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, rescuing animals, and spending time with her children and husband, Blake.
